When a radio falls from the sky into the hands of a wide-eyed Mastiff, he leaves home to fulfill his dream of becoming a musician, setting into motion a series of completely unexpected events.
“Rock Dog” stars the vocal talents of Luke Wilson, Eddie Izzard and J.K. Simmons... all good actors.
The problem with “Rock Dog” is that it just isn't enough of a story to work. The plot is undercooked and much to simple to hold anyone's interest.
Finally, the film has a desperate feel to it and that combined with jerky animation makes the whole film feel as if you're watching an extended episode of 'Hong Kong Phooey.' “Rock Dog” gets a D. It's rated PG.
Tony interviewed Luke Wilson about the film and the process it took to make it. Luke shared that he originally voiced the film two years ago, but then had to come back for retakes. He also said it was challenging to get in the mind (and voice) of a kid.
