50 Prominent Republican National Security Experts Denounce Trump

On Monday, 50 prominent Republican national security and foreign policy experts signed a letter denouncing Donald Trump as a presidential candidate. Professor Ryan Vogel, the Director of National Security Studies at Utah Valley University, joined Good Morning Utah to explain the event.

Many of the people who took part in the movement formerly served in Republican administrations from Nixon's through George W. Bush.  The letter claimed that Trump would be dangerous and "the most reckless President in American history," and also said that he has a lack of qualifications, vales, character and experience to be president.

"In particular, national security and foreign policy experts have focused on Trump's proposal to withdraw support from NATO allies, to arm countries like South Korea and Japan with nuclear weapons, to withdraw support from critical allies in Asia unless they pay for U.S. support, to bar Muslims from entering the United States, to build a wall on our border with Mexico, and to kill the families of suspected terrorists," said Vogel.
