Monsoon moisture takes a break the next few days, but the heat will crank once again...
Thursday's Pinpoint Forecast: A little break from the Monsoon pattern, as drier air will work into the state the next few days. There still will be a few thunderstorms, mainly over the central and southern mountains. A stray storm could still develop up around the Wasatch Front, but it's just a very slim chance. With the drier air, there will be more heat. Highs will top out in the 90s across northern Utah, upper 90s for the Wasatch Front, 80s in the mountains, and up around 103 for Dixie this afternoon. Friday, isolated thunderstorms will pop over the central and southern mountains. Highs will be in the 90s to near 100 for northern Utah, and topping out around 105 for southern Utah. This weekend will be mainly dry, with the exception of a few storms over the southern mountains. Temps will be hot into next week, but the monsoon storms return late Tuesday and especially on Wednesday (Pioneer Day).
Have a great Friday-Eve!
