Curtis' Thursday Pinpoint Forecast

Thursday's Pinpoint Forecast: Hello snow! Grab the jacket, umbrella, and maybe the snowboots walking out the door. Scattered light rain and snow showers will continue for northern Utah, and the intensity and coverage will pick up this afternoon. Another couple of inches could accumulate above 7500' today. Highs will be chilly, 30s in the mountains, 40s and 50s for northern areas, and 50s to near 70 across southern Utah under partly cloudy skies. Tonight, another wave of low pressure will move across the area. Snow will fall and accumulate a couple inches above 6500'. Friday morning, as the coldest air works across the state, lake effect rain and snow will develop for Salt Lake and Davis counties. Close to the lake, it will be rain, but mix with snow away from the lake toward the Benches. In heavier bands, a quick coating of snow is possible, even along the Valley floor. Showers of rain and snow will stick around most of the day, with highs again only in the 40s and 50s. Southern Utah will see highs in the 40s, 50s, and 60s. Friday night will be the coldest of the season, with many locations seeing its first frost or freeze of the season. Lows will be in the 20s and 30s for most of the state, 10s in the mountains, and 40s for the warmest spots of southern Utah. Goodbye tomato garden! The last weekend in September looks gorgeous...mostly sunny skies and warmer temperatures across the area.
Have a great Thursday~!
