MAGNA, Utah (ABC 4 News) - Unified Police asked for the public's help in finding a man that robbed a Shell gas station early Thursday morning.

Salt Lake County Unified Police say officers were called to a robbery at the Tesoro gas station around 2:13 a.m. Authorities said that the suspect entered the gas station, located at 7210 West 3500 South in Magna, and wanted to purchase cigarettes.

After the clerk asked him for identification, police say the suspect reached through his sweatshirt and told the clerk to give him all the money in the register or he would stab her and beat her up.

Police say the suspect fled the store on foot after collecting the money from the clerk. No vehicle was seen and no one in the store was injured.

UPD detectives released surveillance video of the robbery with hope that someone might recognize and bring the suspect to justice. The suspect was described as a Polynesian male, 19 to 21 years old, 6'1, 200 lbs, and wearing a black hooded sweatshirt with blue jeans.

Anyone with information regarding the identity to this suspect was asked to contact Unified Police at 801-743-5950.
