The video is called "Seeing her for the first time again" and it's hard to not to laugh when you see it. An Orem man was a little nervous about going into surgery, so the doctor gave him a little more anesthesia than normal. What came next was a combination of funny flattery and a foggy memory.
"Did the doctor send you? Man you are eye candy," said Jason Mortensen in the video.
The sweet words of this groggy husband have turned into a YouTube sensation.
"What's your name?” Mortensen asked his wife in the video.
“I'm Candice. I'm your wife,” she replied.
“You're my wife?! Holy s***, Dang!" he said.
So far the video been viewed more than 11 million times.
"It's unbelievable for us. It's weird to walk around and people that you've never heard of, never seen before but they know who you are," said Mortensen.
Candice and Jason Mortensen of Orem tell Reporter Brian Carlson they never dreamed their little post surgery video would get so big. Candice just thought her anesthesia induced husband was too funny to not record.
"Oh my God I hit the jackpot!" he said in the video.
"It's pretty flattering. It feels pretty good. Then when he realized he didn't know who I was, he kept asking me and telling me how pretty I was. I thought I should get it on film," said Candice Mortensen, wife.
When Mortensen saw it for the first, he couldn't stop laughing.
"I was busting up and the pain was unbearable, I couldn't handle watching the entire thing because I was laughing so hard," Mortensen said.
And everyone wants to talk to them about it. Since the video hit YouTube four weeks ago, they've got calls from CNN, Ellen, The Doctors, Dr. Oz, The Today show, Inside Edition, Steve Harvey, Queen Latifah, Showbiz Tonight, and Good Morning America – just to name a few.
"Hundreds, maybe 200," Mortensen said.
Right now they have no idea what to expect next.
“Have we kissed yet?” Mortensen said in the video.
"Can you top this in any way?” Carlson asked.
“Um I don’t know. I don’t know, maybe you'll have to wait ‘til after the next surgery, but hopefully there's no more surgeries," Mortensen said.
The Mortensen's tell Carlson it's been a fun ride, but at the same time there's been so much interest from so many news and TV show around the world, they're looking forward to getting some rest.
