SALT LAKE CITY (ABC 4 News) - United States Agent Nicholas Ivie will be laid to rest in the Spanish Fork Cemetery on Thursday, October 11th, at around 1:00 p.m.

Residents in the area are asked to not park vehicles or trailers on the street as it is expected that this event will be well attended by family, friends, and public service personnel.

The Spanish Fork Police Department says they will do all they can to prevent driveways from being blocked and other inconveniences that may occur.

Governor Gary R. Herbert has authorized the lowering of the Flag of the United States of America and the Flag of the State of Utah in honor of Agent Ivie.

The Governor issued the following statement saying "The State of Utah mourns the loss of one of her brave sons. Nicholas Ivie chose a life of service and sacrifice, even at great personal risk. On behalf of all Utahns, Jeannette and I extend out heartfelt appreciation for his dedication. Out thoughts and prayers go out to the friends and family of Nicholas."

There is also a memorial service being held for Agent Ivie. The service will be held at the UCCU Events Center at Utah Valley University in Orem. It starts at 11 a.m. and is open to the public.
