The St. Regis Deer Valley provided a Mother's Day brunch for the women complete with all the mouth-watering fixings.
“Obviously it's quite difficult any day of the year, Mother’s Day maybe a little bit more than normal,” said Stephanie Humiston, who’s husband is deployed in Afghanistan. “It's very comforting to get a day away especially on Mother’s Day to get a special treat.”
This is the second Mother's Day Amanda Brass has had to spend away from her husband who's in Korea.
“It's tough with four little ones running around, they do keep you busy they miss dad and I miss my husband,” said Brass. “They get to see dad when we Skype so that helps, I think he thinks that dad lives in the computer.”
The man behind the brunch comes from a military family himself, so giving back to the moms on has special meaning for him. “As a military brat I know what is like to not see my father for 3-6 months at a time and it's truly special to give back to military families,” said Stan Kaminski, General Manager of St. Regis Deer Valley.
