“One in four women will be abused in their lifetime, so it means your neighbor, your friend everybody know someone who will be abuse,” said Margy Russotto, President of Soroptimist International of Salt Lake.
The women make a donation to attend and the money will go help pay for the YWCA domestic violence hotline. The group is hoping to raise as much as $1,000.
“I think we need to work, not only with the women, but with their young boys to help make sure the cycle doesn't continue on after they've seen abuses in their family and they go on to treat the women in their lives the same way,” said Russotto.
