SALT LAKE CITY (ABC 4 Utah) - Some 25,000 people are expected at the Salt Palace next week for the Summer Outdoor Retailer Expo. The annual event runs July 31st – August 3rd.

The company responsible for setting up for the massive event says it takes some 200-400 people to get the expo up and ready to go.

Mike Lamoreaux, Freeman’s General Manager told ABC 4 Utah, “This is the larger of the two and probably the largest even the Salt Palace holds."

The event is so large the exhibits won't just be inside the Salt Palace, large tents have also been set up in a parking lot to the north of the building to hold extra exhibitors. In fact, the company responsible for putting on the expo tells me they've absolutely run out of room not only at the Salt Palace, but there’s also no hotel space

Outdoor Retailers is committed to Salt Lake City through 2016, but after that if there's no additional hotel space they're going to be looking at other cities to host the event. Potential sites include Denver, Anaheim, Las Vegas, and Orlando, but most exhibitors we spoke to last year say they want to stay here.

Stansport Exhibitor Randy George told ABC 4 Utah, “I don't know anyone on the floor that doesn't enjoy coming to Salt Lake. We'd hate to see it go.”
