MIDVALE, Utah (ABC 4 Utah) - A Midvale mother is extremely worried about her son. Saturday an argument at their home turned violent, a gun shot was fired, and now police are looking for him.
"I couldn't understand him, he was like F***ing this and F***ing this," said Tammy Salazer, mother.
Midvale mother Tammy Salazer tells Reporter Brian Carlson she's heartbroken about what's happening with her son 27 year old David Rios.
"He's not my son and I don't know what's the matter with him because he's never been like this," said Salazer.
Saturday she had to call the police to her home near 78th South and 8th West in Midvale. Her son into a got into an argument with her and his girlfriend. He got up so upset, he got out his gun and fired a shot into the air.
"And he was just carrying on f*** you, you b**** and what not, and he kicked over my flower pot and then he pulled out the gun and he aimed it towards me and I told him don't be pulling a gun out on me David," she said.
After Salazer had family call police, Rios ran off. She's concerned he may hurt himself, or hurt someone else. So far her neighbors have mixed feelings.
"I'm not particularly concerned for my own safety," said Monte Gardner, neighbor.
"(It) kind of scares me that there's somebody loose with a gun," said Karrie Prague, neighbor.
Right now police don't know where he is and they're concerned his behavior is may be putting others' lives at risk.
"Any time somebody fires off a round into the air especially in city limits that bullet has got to come down somewhere and you're only putting an innocent person in jeopardy," said Lt. Justin Hoyal, Unified Police Dept.
His mother just wants him to turn himself in safely.
"Baby you know I love you, I know you think I hate you right now, but please please turn yourself in and get some help," said Salazer.
At last check, his family still hasn't heard from him. Police said he could be facing charges for firing a gun in city limits and and aggravated assault related to domestic violence.
