DRAPER Utah (ABC 4 Utah) - Police released the names of two people involved in the incident that took the life of a Draper police officer.

35 year-old Timothy T. Walker and 34 year-old Traci Vaillancourt are accused of being inside the vehicle that Sgt. Derek Johnson approached Sunday morning.

"He was ambushed," says Sheriff Jim Winder.

Sgt. Johnson was shot several times and died at the hospital. Police say Walker shot Vaillancourt and then turned the gun on himself. Both remain in critical condition.

Monday, authorities claimed the pair had a small criminal history. A court search of Walker shows that he has never committed any felony or misdemeanors but has been involved with custody issues. As for Vaillancourt, she too was involved in custody issues and was charged with theft several years ago.

Meanwhile, Draper city officials announced funeral plans for Sgt. Johnson. It will be held Friday at the Salt Palace Convention Center in Salt Lake City. The funeral will be at 11 a.m. Earlier a posting on Sgt Johnson's memorial Facebook indicated the funeral would take place at the Southtown Expo Center in Sandy but Draper officials say it was too small.
