Police make second arrest in SLC murder

SALT LAKE CITY (ABC 4 News) - A second person has been arrested in the murder of a 19-year old.
SALT LAKE CITY (ABC 4 News) – Police arrested a second suspect in the death of a 19-year old at a convenience store.

Sione Fakatoufifita was shot and killed nearly two weeks ago at a Maverick convenience store near 1700 south and Redwood Road.

His killer has yet to be found but Sionne’s family hopes this latest arrest will get them closer to solving this crime.

Salt Lake City police arrested Vaiola Tenifa for obstruction of justice earlier this week.

Sionne's father wants answers as to who killed his son.

"I can see someone wanting to fight him but to kill him in cold blood, that's not right," says Haimi Fakatoufifita.

The probable cause statement filed by police says Tenifa first claimed "he never left his home" on the night of the murder. But he later admitted "he drove through the parking lot ... within minutes of the victim being shot."

Sionne's father who finished burying his 19 year old son last week says Tenifa knows something.

“If he say he never leave his house or stay home, what was he doing there when my son was shot," says Sionne’s father.

Last week, Sionne's girlfriend, Morgan Holst was jailed on similar charges of obstruction of justice.

Sionne's father says Holst and Tenifa are related and he hopes one of them will tell police the truth.
I think they know something about what happened,” he says. “But nobody's talking right now.”
