ST. GEORGE, Utah (ABC 4 News) - Police say one man is in custody as investigators search for another in connection with a string of burglaries in the St. George area.

Police say 24-year-old Colter Maggard was charged with a burglary that occurred in the Artesia subdivision in St. George last week.

Police were still seeking another suspect in their investigation, 34-year-old Lonnie Unruh.

Police say Unruh and Maggard allegedly broke into the residence while the residents were out of town.

According to police, approximately $20,000.00 in property was stolen, including three motor scooters, various tools, miscellaneous electronics, and a variety of other household items such as furniture and artwork.

Police say detectives followed evidence linking Unruh and Maggard to the burglaries and obtained a search warrant for a residence at 1394 N. 2020 W. in St. George, where officers located multiple items of stolen property inside.

Police say Maggard was already in Washington County's Purgatory Jail on drug charges by another agency, as prosecutors added the charges booking him on burglary and theft.

Police say Lonnie Unruh is still wanted by Detectives for questioning in this case.

Anyone with information on the case, including the location of Lonnie Unruh, was asked to contact the St. George Police Department at 435-627-4300.
