OGDEN, Utah (ABC 4 Utah) – According to witnesses and police, a man attempted to hijack a bus at 36th and Tyler in Ogden on the morning of September 11.

Police say Trace Green approached the bus driver and told him he was not going to get off the bus. Then Green allegedly grabbed the fire extinguisher located behind the driver seat.

The bus driver pulled the bus over and instructed everyone to get off the bus.

Once the driver had the passengers off the bus, police say Green jumped into the driver’s seat and tried to take the bus.

The driver struggled with Green and attempted to pull him out of the seat.

Police say Green discharged the fire extinguisher directly into the driver’s face which caused the driver to let go.

Green left the bus and began walking west on 36th Street where officers apprehended him.

Officers took Green into custody and transported him to the Weber County Jail where he was booked for bus hijacking.

Four witnesses who were passengers on the bus all confirmed the driver's account of what had taken place.
