TAYLORSVILLE, Utah (AP) - Police have released the name of a 52-year-old bicyclist who was killed after being struck by a car in Taylorsville.

Unified police Lt. Justin Hoyal says Brad Hendricks of Millcreek was riding westbound on Taylorsville Expressway about 2:30 a.m. Sunday when he was struck from behind by a 29-year-old man driving a Mazda 6.

Hendricks died at the scene.

Hoyal says the road is not well-lit where the crash occurred in a 50 mph speed zone. He says the driver told investigators he didn't see the cyclist, who had no lights, reflective gear or helmet.

Hoyal says prosecutors will review the case but neither alcohol nor drugs appear to have been factors.
