WEST VALLEY CITY, Utah (ABC 4 News) - One individual is dead after her car crossed the median and slammed into the side of an oncoming semi Sunday morning.

West Valley City Police say the 20-year-old female was pronounced dead at Intermountain Medical Center after she was transported by medical helicopter.

The accident occurred at the intersection of 2400 South Bangerter Highway.

Witnesses say the female was driving at speeds between 70 and 75 m.p.h. around the time of the accident. The posted speed limit in that area is 50 m.p.h.

She was the only individual in her vehicle at the time of the incident.
