Mitt Romney coming to Utah for 2002 Olympics celebration

SALT LAKE CITY (ABC 4 News) - Presidential contender Mitt Romney is coming to Utah in February.
SALT LAKE CITY (ABC 4 News) - Presidential contender Mitt Romney is coming to Utah in February.

The Utah Olympic Legacy Foundation announced that Romney will make an appearance at the 10th anniversary celebration of the 2002 Olympic Winter Games on February 18.

Romney is the former CEO of the Salt Lake Organizing Committee for the Games, and will join former Olympians and current athletes during the commemoration. 

Romney will speak during the "Stars on Ice" show at Energy Solutions Arena.

The show will also feature Olympic gold medalist figure skater Sarah Hughes, Canadian pair Jamie Salé and David Pelletier, who won the gold medal at the 2002 Salt Lake Games; World Champion and six-time U.S. National Champion Todd Eldredge; along with other athletes.

Romney is in a tight race with Newt Gingrich in the Florida Primary, which will be held on Tuesday.

Romney's Utah appearance will happen just after the Colorado Minnesota and Missouri primaries.
