Former University of Utah defensive end Paul Kruger recorded a game-high two sacks, both in the first half, both on 3rd down, forcing the 49ers to settle for field goal attempts.
Kruger, who led the Ravens in sacks this year, will become an unrestricted free agent. He is not sure if he has played his last game for Baltimore.
"I don't know what else I can do," Kruger told the Baltimore Sun. "I just have to let it happen and let my agent do his job. I would love to be here, but it's not up to me."
Former BYU tight end Dennis Pitta was also instrumental in the Ravens victory. Pitta caught four passes for 26 yards, including a 1-yard touchdown pass from Joe Flacco in the second quarter.
Pitta finished the playoffs with three touchdown catches, and a total of ten for the entire season. Pitta gave credit to Super Bowl MVP quarterback Joe Flacco.
"It's well-deserved," Pitta said about the MVP award. "He's taken a lot of criticism over his career for whatever reason, but we've always believed in him. We've known the kind of player that he is. He's showed up on the biggest stage and performed. It's unbelievable. He deserves everything."
Former Highland High star Haloti Ngata had two tackles for Baltimore, but injured his knee in the second quarter and did not return.
