Steven and Josh Powell spoke to ABC’s Abbie Boudreau.
“Susan was very…very sexual with me. She was very flirtatious. I mean, I'm…I'm her father-in-law and she…she would do a lot of things that…I mean, she was just…she did it, I did…I mean, we…we interacted in…a lot of sexual ways because Susan enjoys doing that,” said Steve Powell.
Abbie Boudreau: “Do you think a part of you started falling in love with Susan?
Steve Powell: “That's pretty likely, yeah. I mean, I…I…yeah, I would say so. And…and I…and...and there's no question in my mind that the feelings were mutual.”
Susan's parents Chuck and Judy Cox, who are in a bitter family feud with the Powells, say those allegations are nothing but lies.
“That's completely false,” said Chuck Cox. “She had told us a long time ago, before they moved to Utah…she told us he had made some advances towards her…she didn't go into details with me, but she told me it made her uncomfortable that her husband didn't seem to care, so they decided to move to Utah…and one of the main reasons for that was to get away from Steve.”
Susan's husband Josh says he wonders if she left him and their two young boys for another man.
“Has she ever been unfaithful to you?”
Josh Powell: “Never that I know of.”
Abbie Boudreau: “Then why do you think that she would just run off with another man? Why do you think that's possible?”
Josh: “She's a very sexual person.”
“That's ridiculous,” said Chuck Cox. “Police have already investigated if she left on her own, and said that didn't happen.”
Chuck Cox also believes his son-in-law should be doing more to help find Susan.
Abbie Boudreau: “Is there any doubt in your mind that he's behind your daughter's disappearance?”
Chuck Cox: “I don't point fingers at him, I never have, and I let the police do the police work. The guilty parties will be punished.”
As for Josh Powell, he says he's holding on to hope.
Abbie Boudreau: “You think she's still alive?”
Josh Powell: “At times. It's a rollercoaster.”
Abbie Boudreau: “What would you want to say to her if she's watching?”
Josh Powell: “That I miss her. That she's…that I love her. That she's got two boys who love her.”
Josh Powell did answer the burning question in many people's minds.
Abbie Boudreua: “Did you kill your wife?”
Josh Powell: “No.”
The investigation into Susan's disappearance is still an open case. On Friday and Saturday, a search was carried out in the Nevada desert near Ely, but nothing was found.
