LEHI, Utah (ABC 4 Sports) - It has been over three years since Jimmer Fredette last played a basketball game at BYU, but he is still a very big deal in Utah.

Fredette is back in town hosting the third annual Jimmer Jam basketball camp in Lehi.

"I hope the kids keep coming back and enjoy themselves," Fredette said. "That's the biggest thing is for them to have fun. I know I enjoy it, being able to meet all the kids and see them get older and get better."

230 kids from all over the country are attending the 3-day camp. Fredette hopes they learn more than just basketball skills.

"You want them to get better, work hard and compete," Jimmer said. "But I also want to teach them good life skills, to be good sports and try to be good people."

As for his NBA career, Jimmer is looking forward to a fresh start. The Sacramento Kings, which picked up the third year ioption on Fredette's contract, have a new ownership group and a new coach. Fredette is hopeful that will translate into more playing time.

"We'll see what the future holds with the team and the organization," he said. "We've got all new people in, and are going in a new direction. So I'm excited to be a part of it, to go back next year and hopefully do some great things."

Regardless of how his NBA career goes, Jimmer Jam will continue to be a big success.
