Funeral services for Aaron R. Beesley of Bear River City are set for 11 a.m. Saturday at Northridge High School in Layton, Utah.

The 34-year-old trooper lost his footing while trying to retrieve a medical backpack that rolled over the edge of a cliff during the June 30 rescue effort on Mount Olympus.

A public viewing is set for 5 to 8 p.m. Friday at the high school and from 9 to 10 a.m. Saturday.

Funeral services will be followed by a public procession and interment at West Point Memorial Cemetery in West Point.

Beesley leaves behind a wife and three young sons.
