Car crash leads to drug arrest

SALT LAKE CITY, Utah (ABC 4 Utah) – Three people sit behind bars Thursday afternoon after a Utah Highway Patrol trooper tried to pull over the car they were riding in for a broken headlight.
SALT LAKE CITY, Utah (ABC 4 Utah) – Three people sit behind bars Thursday afternoon after a Utah Highway Patrol trooper tried to pull over the car they were riding in for a broken headlight.
The vehicle crashed at the bottom of the 4500 South off ramp.

The driver Ryan Trujillo, 25, fled on foot. Two passengers Jasmin Castillo, 25, and Cody Belgard, 25, who remained in the vehicle, were taken into custody by other responding units. Trujillo was perused by trooper on foot.

Trujillo was taken into custody after he was located in a bush about 150 yards from the scene. The vehicle appears to be stolen and one of the passengers ditched a stolen handgun.

Troopers say the car was stolen and they found drugs inside.
