SALT LAKE CITY (ABC 4 News) - Police say a tip led Salt Lake City investigators to two men suspected in a California murder case.

Police say the tip came in Wednesday morning, which led officers to a shelter area on 270 S. Main Street.

According to police, officers were in the area of the shelter and spotted 21-year-old Jonathan Bess and 23-year-old Brian Bess.

They were both booked into jail for their outstanding warrants related to a homicide in San Jose, California.

Police in San Jose said that the Bess brothers disappeared on April 27 after the stabbing death of 51-year-old Joseph Cotta.

According to SJPD, the brothers were involved in a nine-hour standoff in which they locked themselves and others in the home where Cotta was found.

San Jose police say the Bess brothers are the primary suspects in the killing.
