PROVO, Utah (ABC 4 Utah) - BYU head football coach Bronco Mendenhall announced senior linebacker Spencer Hadley has been suspended from the team indefinitely due to a violation of team rules.

BYU's assistant to the president, Carri Jenkins, verified that Hadley had violated the school's honor code, and was suspended by the university for five games. That means Hadley would not be eligible to return until the Boise State game October 25th.

However, it is up to Mendenhall whether or not Hadley is reinstated to the team. Hadley, a senior, could remain on suspension for the rest of the season.

Hadley started BYU’s first two games this season at inside linebacker while recording 12 tackles and two pass breakups. Overall, the 6-foot-1, 227-pound linebacker has started 16 games with 39 appearances at both inside and outside linebacker.
