Allgier made that request in a letter he sent to ABC 4 News.
The letter also blames the media for falsely reporting his crime.
Last month Allgier pleaded guilty to murdering corrections officer Steven Anderson in 2007.
The plea bargain spared his life but more than likely will spend his life behind bars with no chance of parole.
In his letter to ABC 4 News Allgier claims live television coverage of his sentencing “will boost your ratings."
He blames the media for failing to give the facts about his case.
He writes: "I'm sick of all of you putting your ignorant twist on everything. “For (five and a half) it's constant disrespect from all of you (media), intentionally lying and misleading the public and it needs to stop!"
But Allgier’s request won’t happen. The state Judicial Council did approve video recordings of court proceedings. But that won’t go into effect until next spring.
Allgier will have to settle for camera pictures and an audio recording of his sentencing next month.
