SANDY, Utah (ABC 4 News) - A mountain lion sighting in Sandy near I-15? The Utah Division of Natural Resources says that's what happened Friday morning. They say they received two calls about the sightings.

The first sighting came at 12:30am near the old Lowe's Store off the interstate. The second sighting happened three hours later in South Jordan near 98th south and 27th west. Ray Loken of the DNR said, "It's a little unusual for mountain lions to make it this far into town, but stranger things have happened."

The DNR says the mountain lion probably got lost while looking for deer and water. They believe he somehow made it from the east bench to Oquirrh's. Loken said, "Well a mountain lion that would be stuck in a setting such as this is going to be frightened for the most part."
