DETROIT (ABC 4 Sports) - Former BYU star Ziggy Ansah, the 5th overall pick in the NFL Draft, signs a 5-year contract with the Detroit Lions.
DETROIT (ABC 4 Sports) - The Detroit Lions signed defensive end Ziggy Ansah, the fifth overall pick in this year's draft, to a five-year contract on Friday, and Detroit opens its rookie camp with all nine of its draft picks signed.
Details of the deal weren't immediately known, but the deal is expected to be in the $20 million range.
Ansah, who started playing football in 2010, is expected to become an immediate starter for the Lions.
Ansah, cornerback Darius Slay, guard Larry Warford, defensive end Devin Taylor, punter Sam Martin, receiver Corey Fuller, running back Theo Riddick, tight end Michael Williams and linebacker Brandon Hepburn have signed since the draft in April.
