LAYTON, Utah (ABC 4) - Police arrested a Granger High School teacher in West Valley. Chaarie Jaramillo is charged with multiple felonies, for allegedly having sex with a 17-year-old student a decade ago, according to S Walton of the Layton Police Department as recorded in a probable cause statement.

Chaarie Lynn Jaramillo was arrested on Tuesday at Granger High School in West Valley City, where she has been a social studies teacher since 2009. Previously she was a teacher at Northridge High School in Layton between 2001-2009.

Authorities said Jaramillo, 35, had a sexual relationship with a 17-year-old male student between 2002-2003. The Layton Police Dept. first learned of the allegations in Feb. 2012, but did not make the arrest until Tuesday. Authorities don't have any indications that any Granger students were sexually involved with Jaramillo.

Jaramillo was booked into the Davis County Jail on three counts of first-degree rape and two counts of second-degree felony forcible sex abuse of a minor. She is being held on $30,000 bail.

The Davis County Attorney's office is currently reviewing the case before filing formal charges in district court.
