Unified Police tell ABC4 News, the boy was crossing the street with three other friends. A vehicle going south stopped for the kids, but the car behind was not able to stop in time and had to swerve, did not see the kids, and hit the boy. The boy smashed into the windshield and was thrown nearly one hundred feet.
He was taken to Intermountain Medical Center in very critical condition.
Unified Police say investigators will look through the evidence over the next few weeks and then determine whether or not charges will be filed against the 49-year-old driver.
