RSL loses to Seattle, falls out of 1st place

SEATTLE (ABC 4 Sports) - Obafemi Martins and Lamar Neagle scored goals for Seattle as the Sounders took over the lead in the Western Conference with a 2-0 win over Real Salt Lake.
SEATTLE (ABC 4 Sports) - Real Salt Lake has fallen out of first place in the Western Conference.

Obafemi Martins scored in the 3rd minute, while Lamar Neagle added an insurance goal in the 38th minute as the Seattle Sounders beat Real Salt Lake 2-0 in front of over 50,000 raucous fans at CenturyLink Field.

This was the first time RSL has been shutout in 22 matches, since a 2-0 loss to the L.A. Galaxy back on March 27th.

Seattle is now one point ahead of Real Salt Lake in the race for the Supporters' Shield.

Real next returns to action September 21st at home against San Jose.
