SALT LAKE CITY (ABC 4 Sports) - Over 11,000 5th and 6th graders had fun at the Salt Lake Bees game, and so did ABC4 Utah's Dana Greene.
SALT LAKE CITY (ABC 4 Sports) - The Salt Lake Bees, in conjunction with the Utah State Office of Education, hosted Prevention Dimensions Day at the Bees vs. Memphis Redbirds game Tuesday afternoon. The Bees welcomed more than 11,000 students to this 10th annual event at Spring Mobile Ballpark which promotes drug and alcohol prevention.
The Bees beat the Redbirds, 10-3.
The fifth and sixth grade students in attendance enjoyed an opening ceremony featuring more than 400 Utah elementary students from the Davis, Granite and Salt Lake school districts. Also participating in the program was Utah’s First Lady, Jeanette Herbert, and Verne Larsen, Safe and Drug-Free Schools Coordinator for the Utah State Office of Education. Larsen will also threw out the ceremonial first pitch, while the Lehi Children’s Choir performed the national anthem.
