A new reason to put down the cola, it might be turning off the sensors in your brain saying you are full!
Dietician Rachel Jones said, "We indulge on it all the time which has an impact on our brain function."
Jones is talking about fructose, the sweetener is in most of America's processed food and the most common form is High Fructose Corn Syrup.
The sweeter is at the center of a new study published this week in the Journal of American Medicine.
Scientists have used imaging tests to show for the first time that fructose, a sugar that saturates the American diet, can trigger brain changes that may lead to overeating.
Jones said it is more than just a problem of your brain being tricked, but one of emotion, "Over eating, anxiety and then fructose becomes a drug of choice and we will tend to self soothe."
