Draper police receive $250,000 in federal grant for school resource officers

DRAPER, Utah (ABC 4 UTAH) – The Draper Police department receives a $250,000 grant from the U.S Department of Justice
DRAPER, Utah (ABC 4 UTAH) – The Draper Police department receives a $250,000 grant from the U.S Department of Justice; Office of Community Oriented Policing services (COPS).

The funds are for two school resource officers (RSO). The two RSO officers will be assigned to Corner Canyon High School and Draper Park Middle School, which recently opened in the 2013 school year.

Draper City Police Chief Bryan Roberts says, "These grant funds and the ability to staff School Resource Officers at our new schools will greatly enhance our service to the schools and strengthen our relationships with the youth of our community."
