Arlette and her husband opened Day Murray Music back in 1946. The store has been at the same location on State Street since that time. Now the woman behind the store's success is celebrating a big birthday. In honor of her life and success, her family is asking Utah's musicians to submit their own original piece of music for competition.
The competition is also acting as a fundraiser to raise money for Brielle Beus and her family. ABC4Utah has followed this little girl and her fight for life, a fight with Leukemia she lost this week. Brielle's family wrote a song together which will be featured the night of the performance. The money we raise from ticket sales will be going to the Beus family.
The competition will be on August 30 at the Murray Amphitheater. If you would like to participate, entry forms are available at the store located at 4914 S State Street.
