Worker killed in SLC industrial accident

SALT LAKE CITY (ABC 4 News) - A man who was trapped under a piece of machinery at an industrial site died on Friday.
SALT LAKE CITY (ABC 4 News) - A man who was trapped under a piece of machinery at an industrial site died on Friday.

Officials say the accident happened at the Cambelt International facility on 2820 West Directors Row (1100 South).

The company manufactures conveyor belts and conveyor systems.

The man was pronounced dead on scene.

He was later identified as 34-year old Inoke Langi.

Officials say Langi was working on a piece of machinery when it collapsed on him, crushing his torso.

It is unknown at this time why the machinery moved while he was underneath it.


Salt Lake City Fire Department officials said that the piece of machinery is used to mold rubber pieces together to create conveyor belts.

SLC Fire Officials also said that OHSA will be investigating the accident.
