Stefan Scrivan got the call Saturday that his home was on fire. When he arrived someone was already rolling on their cell phone camera. His emotions, understandably, are overwhelming.
On the video you can hear Scrivan cry, "Everything is gone, everything! We were just getting ready to move and now it's all gone."
Not only was his stuff likely up in flames, he was worried about his puppies.
"They're all in the back bedroom,” said Scrivan to firefighters. “The male, the female and six babies."
Minutes later, one by one, then two by two the puppies were brought to safety. Hours later Stefan was allowed back inside and showed us the place where his dogs had survived the flames.
"This is where all the puppies were,” said Scrivan.
Walking through what's left of his home, Scrivan realized his loved ones were all that were really worth saving.
“We got our lives and we got our dogs,” said Scrivan. "My dogs are just like regular human beings…they're children. I love them so much."
