Inside Albion Middle School in Sandy two the two teens were busted, they went on twitter and publicly arranged to meet up with an older man to smoke pot.
Sandy Police Sgt. Jon Arnold told ABC4 News, "There were plans to meet up during the school day, to leave campus and go hang out."
One of the girls mothers found drugs in the girls room and then confiscated the girls cell phone, that's when things got interesting.
Sgt. Arnold said, "while officers and parents had the cell phone, they received a text message from the man. They returned the message and the individual came to the school to pick up the girls and instead the officers detained the individual."
Police and School Adminstrators caught the 18-year-old man, before the teen girls did.
Sgt. Arnold said, "This whole situation would not have been discovered, if it wasn't for diligent parents."
But what if the parents weren't watching? That is part of the warning from Canyons School District.
Jeff Haney from Canyons School District said, "The take home for mom and dad is for them to be aware of what your kids are doing online."
While Canyons School District can't talk specifics in this Albion case, due to the children's age, they will say parents always need to be involved.
Haney said, "Canyons School District encourages parents to be aware of their kids online presence."
