One of the girl's neighbors says she was climbing on furniture to get a bathing suit when her weight shifted a dresser and the large Television it was supporting.
An emergency call for help was made at 8:57 a.m. from the area of 780 West 2500 South in Syracuse.
"I just saw all the fire trucks coming and the helicopter coming down to take her," said neighbor Conor Picot.
The toddler suffered significant critical injuries, according to Syracuse Fire Chief Eric Froerer.
She moved into her grandparents home with her parents.
She was a regular on this street. "She's really nice. She's really playful," Picot said.
"Makes us so sad. We've had our grandkids over there playing with them and knowing them a little bit," said neighbor Amanda Weaver.
Neighbors are not blaming the parents or grandparents. They are however thinking about what they can do to avoid a similar accident. "I think we'll get rid of the tall set of drawers or anchor them to the wall," Weaver said.
The three year old girl was in critical condition at Primary Children's Medical Center when this story was posted online Monday at 5:30 p.m.
