On May 2, KayLee Cox was playing on a slide in her backyard when he heart stopped beating. According to KayLee’s family, the cardiac arrest caused the three-year-old to fall off the slide.
KayLee was taken to Primary Children’s Medical Center in Salt Lake City where doctors discovered a tumor in KayLee’s left ventricle artery of her heart. She is in a coma fighting for her life.
Family friends, Casey Walker and Dixie Clark, said there were never any warning signs the little girl was sick. They said KayLee is extremely active and full of energy.
“There was no way any of us could have known,” Clark said. “It was just a matter of time until it happened.”
Walker said KayLee’s mother, Randee, was watching her daughter play at the time of the incident. Randee immediately started CPR on her daughter before emergency responders arrived.
“Her mother saver her life,” Walker said.
A Facebook page called “Pray for KayLee Cox” shares the little girl’s story and it is gaining lots of support.
Her family has set up a trust at America First Credit Union under KayLee Cox’s name to help pay for mounting medical bills. The account number is 9059577.
“If no one is able to donate, we just ask for prayers and thoughts for this little girl,” Walker added.
