SALT LAKE CITY (ABC 4 Utah) – A sixteen year old girl is missing and Salt Lake City police are hoping you can put an end to her family's search.

Mharina Acciaio was last seen at City Creek Center on Tuesday.
Her father tells police she has a history of returning home late, but as the days pass both the family and police are growing concerned.

"We're just asking the public, I think that's the message we want to get out, is really to raise people's awareness level and ask people to take a look at that picture," says Detective, Rick Wall, with the Salt Lake City Police Department.

Acciaio is 5’ 2”, has brown hair and brown eyes.
She was wearing a black tank top, black sweat pants and pink flip flops.

"So far in our investigation we haven't seen anything at this point that leads us to believe there is any foul play," says Wall.

You may spot her at shopping malls, libraries or on public transportation in the downtown area.
Police don't believe the teen poses a threat to the community, but they are worried she could be harming herself.

"She does take some medication, so that's one of the other concerns we have, we want to make sure she gets the medication she needs," says Wall.

If you see her or know anything about her whereabouts you can contact Salt Lake City police at (801) 799-3000.
