The crime spree leading up to this shooting began at 6:10 p.m. about seven blocks away from the shooting at Scaddy’s Fast Food in Murray. .
“I have a lot of adrenaline and I would love to get a hold of that guy,” said Scaddy’s General Manager, Pierce Scadlock.
Scadlock was in the back of the restaurant when he heard the commotion at the cash register. He walked forward and found a man with a gun demanding cash.
“I froze. I was like I’m not going to run at him he has a gun,” Scadlock said.
The cashier refused to hand over the money, but eventually opened the cash drawer. The suspect made a quick grab and ran away with less than $100.
“He’s shooting people. It kind of puts your life in perspective you know so it kind of puts your life in perspective,” said Scadlock.
The suspect drives away with a woman in a Toyota Corolla with Oregon plates to a Family Dollar store about seven blocks away to the 6100 South 1300 East location.
The male suspect walked inside the store and then later ran away when police pull up. The move was so subtle workers inside Family Dollar tell ABC 4 they had no idea an armed robber was in the store.
The suspect runs about a block south with the police officer running behind and this is where the gun fire is exchanged. The police officer was not shot, but there is not report about the suspect or the women.
They run about a block south an carjack a silver 2010 Dodge Caliber with Utah plates B956JL.
Police chase the car, but it gets away.
Murray police describe the male suspect as a white man in his early 20’s standing 5’9” with a medium build.
The woman is described as white and in her 30’s.
Call 911 if you see the car with these suspects. They are armed and dangerous.
