Man and 2-year-old found dead in apparent murder suicide

SPANISH FORK, Utah (ABC 4 Utah) – June 9, Spanish Fork City Police Officers responded to report of suicide according to a news release from the Spanish Fork Police Department.
SPANISH FORK, Utah (ABC 4 Utah) – June 9, Spanish Fork City Police Officers responded to report of suicide according to a news release from the Spanish Fork Police Department. Police found Bryson Drew, 21, of Spanish Fork and his 2-year-old child dead inside the house.

The reporting party is the sister of the deceased male and an aunt to the dead child.

The child was located in a bedroom on the main floor of the house. Blunt force trauma was present on the child. Drew suffered a single gunshot wound to the head.

The deceased individuals were transported to the State of Utah Medical Examiner's Office where autopsies will be performed. The cause of death for the child will be determined by the Medical Examiner’s Office.

Bryson and his son were living with Bryson’s grandparents at the residence. Bryson shared custody of the 2-year-old child although a formal custody order did not exist.

A suicide note was located at the scene, but it did not explain a reason for the deaths.
