SALT LAKE CITY (ABC 4 News) - The Seattle Mariners and Colorado Rockies faced off Saturday in Salt Lake City. It's the first major league baseball game in Utah in about 50 years.

The 15,000 seats in the Bees stadium sold out in less than one hour when tickets sales began in December.

The teams played in Utah because the Colorado Rockies are working to build their fan base.

"It's awesome. I'm really excited. I think everyone is really excited when we found out. It sold out really fast," said Kyle Bakeberg.

ABC 4 took a camera through the crowd to get reaction about the big game.

"Major league baseball in Utah. Wish we had a team," said Mike Benson.

"I'm a Bee's Fan, but I'm rooting for the Mariners," said Carrie Johnston.

The bees General Manager says we may have another major league game in Utah by next year.

The Bees home opener is April 4.
