Gang unit searching for 'Public Enemy Number One'

SALT LAKE CITY (ABC 4 News) - Unified Police investigators and The Salt Lake Metro Gang Unit are looking for a suspect they are calling 'Public Enemy Number One.'
SALT LAKE CITY (ABC 4 News) - Unified Police investigators and The Salt Lake Metro Gang Unit are looking for a suspect they are calling 'Public Enemy Number One.'

Police are asking for the public's help in locating 31-year-old Juan Carlos Montoya, who police say is a member of a violent street gang.
 
Police say Montoya is wanted on a $25,000 warrant for possession of a controlled substance with intent to distribute and on a $5,000 warrant for failure to stop at the command of a police officer.

Police say Montoya is a convicted felon and a multi-state offender with a previous criminal history that includes arrests for domestic battery, assault of a pregnant person, felony possession of a dangerous weapon, and several arrests for possession of dangerous drugs.

Police described Montoya as a male Hispanic, 5’10” and 200 lbs. His moniker is “Raskal.” He has “ESR” tattooed on his abdomen, “Raskal” tattooed on his back, “QVO” tattooed on his chest, and “BP” on the back of his head.

ANyone with information on Montoya was asked to call the Metro Gang Unit through UPD Dispatch at (801) 743-7000.

Police say that individuals who provide information leading to the arrest of Montoya may be eligible for a cash reward.
