SALT LAKE CITY, Utah (ABC 4 Utah) - Salt Lake City firefighter rescued a pet iguana Tuesday morning after it escaped through an open window.

Firefighters responded to a call at 9 a.m. from the Caladonian Apartments that stated the owner's pet iguana had went out an open window of their fifth floor apartment and the owner was not able to get it down.

Firefighters typically don't perform animal rescues of this kind. Typically, when cats, for example are stuck in trees, they are able to get themselves down.

The firefighter climbed the tree and safely removed the lizard and it was returned to its owner. No one was injured.
