FAA investigates deadly Escalante plane crash

WOODS CROSS, Utah (ABC 4 News) - Authorities release the name of two Escalante men killed in single engine plane crash.

Around 3:30 Saturday afternoon Garfield County Sheriff's Department says a single engine plane crashed after hitting transmission lines near State Route 12 at mile marker 78. Pilot Paul Clark Bowmar and the passenger, Nicholas Wolfrom Rezmick, both of Escalante died on the scene.

Becky Bronson, Garfield County Sheriff's Office spokesperson, told ABC 4 News, "He was an experienced pilot. The conditions at the time of the flight were not ones that would cause a crash."

Initial reports suggest there weren’t any mechanical failures with the plane.

The investigation into exactly how the crash happened is continues.
