WEST JORDAN, Utah (ABC 4 Utah)- One high school football coach fired, another suspended after last week's homecoming game. But Wednesday night, some Copper Hills High parents rallied behind the coaches.

It was what happened on the field at Friday's homecoming game that landed Copper Hills High School Football Head Coach John Teuscher in trouble off the field.

"I saw a lot of confusion people running on the field and then saw all the penalties," said parent Chris Munsey.

It was a call going against Copper Hills and then the coaching staff allegedly storming the field and swearing at referees. It's a reaction the school district's spokesperson says the principal called "unsportsmanlike conduct."

"It wasn't just an isolated incident so he felt it was time to take some action and some disciplinary measure," said Jordan School District Spokesperson Sandy Riesgraf.

The head coach suspended for two games and his offensive lineman coach John Cullen fired.

"I talked to coach Cullen. We were on the phone last night. We texted and talked to each other," said Head coach John Teuscher.

Cullen, a star player for the University of Utah, now permanently benched at Copper Hills. After apologizing to administration, the head coach called a meeting.

"The head football coach wants a chance to say what he thinks," said Teuscher.

But he didn't say much about the incident, just that he wants to move forward. Something one parent worries will actually happen.

"I don't want it to be a huge setback for the kids. And I kinda feel like it's going to be. You can't disrupt a coaching staff to that extent and not have it be a disruption to the team," said Munsey.

The second game of Teuscher's suspension is against their rival West Jordan so some people weren't happy about that. Other parents argued there wasn't a thorough investigation before Cullen was fired or Teuscher suspended.
