SALT LAKE CITY (ABC 4 News) – Salt Lake City Police are releasing surveillance video of a strong armed robbery.

Det. Vernonica Montoya says the suspect walked into EZ Eyebrow at the Gateway Mall at 12:15 p.m. Thursday. He then asked the clerk for change from the cash register. The clerk opened the cash till. The suspect grabbed cash and left.

ABC 4 revealed the surveillance video to people in and around the Gateway Mall for reaction.

“I think he’s dumb he didn’t wear a mask, but at the same time it’s wrong,” said Kenneth McCall.

The surveillance video reveals a clear contour of the suspect face.

“I feel sorry for this person. He got into this situation where he thought that this was so desperate that he had to make this money this way,” said Jeff Hunter.

“My comment to that is get him. Do you recognize him at all? No not really,” said Scott Silcox.

Police are hopeful someone watching this newscast will call in a tip to prevent this man from robbing again.

“Look, look at his face he didn’t even wear a mask or pull his hat down,” said McCall.

Police describe the suspect as a white man between 20 and 25-years-old. He stands about 5 feet 6 inches tall and weighs about 160 pounds. Call the Salt Lake City Police Department if you recognize him. You can also leave anonymous tips by texting TIPSLCPD.
