TAYLORSVILLE, Utah (ABC 4 News) - Police say 34-year-old man was arrested for child sex abuse following an odd shooting investigation in Taylorsville.

Police say officers responded to a report of a shooting that took place at around 2:00 a.m. on Monday.

According to police, one of the three adult men living in the Taylorsville home was shooting at a mouse when one of the bullets penetrated a wall and hit another roommate who was in a bathroom, the bullet striking him in the chest.

The victim was taken to a local hospital where he was expected to recover from his wounds.

While clearing the scene, officers discovered a 13-year-old girl hiding in the basement.

After interviewing the girl, police say it was discovered that she had been involved in a sexual relationship with a third roommate, 34-year-old David Paul Kunzler.

Police say the girl was interviews by representatives of the Children's Justice Center when she disclosed details of the sexual relationship with Kunzler.

Police say the girl had sneaked away from her father's home without his knowledge to be with Kunzler.

Kunzler was arrested and faces Rape of a child, Sodomy on a child and Aggravated Sexual Abuse of a Child charges.

Police said that there was no evidence at the scene to suggest that there were other alleged victims of sexual abuse, but asked the public to call them if they know of any other inappropriate relationship involving anyone in the home.

Police said that alcohol may have been a factor in the shooting.
